I also have the same concern about the catalogue of the brewery.
A microbrewery is something like 10bbl , 20bbl till 30bbl, i think.
The brewery system you want may be called a nano brewery or a lab type brewery system.
Nano brewery system is small with 1bbl, 2bbl or 3bbl.
If you a business, the system above 3bbl is much suitable because of the economy calculation.
If you only take it as a hobby and like to get a professional brewing feeling, i suggest a 1bbl or half bbl system.
Of course, it must have the whole function for the commercial brewing.
Not a pilot or home brewing system.
Hope i can help you.

For some, microbrewing is either a schooled profession or a hobby that
has been grown to MONSTEROUS proportions. I would like to think that I
could attain the dream of microbrewing by means of the hobby route. My
short-term goal/dream is to open a small restuarant within 1-3 years,
and offer some home/microbrew beers to the public. This small
restuarant is my primary focus. However, I would like to have a brewing
system that would be adequate for startup and growth. I have searched
the WEB to some extent, and have only found companies that custom
fabricate 10-150 bbl systems. One in particular, started at $12K. I
also looked into some mail order home brew supply stores. One store had
a system which consisted of three 15 gallon stainless steel pots atop a
step type platform which had burners under each pot. It sold for
$1250.
My questions are: Does anyone have any information on microbrewing
equipment and prices that would fit my needs? Is there any books on
starting a microbrewery? I almost hate to call it a microbrewery
because I may only put 1 or 2 beers out at a time; 1 to 2 barrels each.
I don't believe the system would have to be too terribly large. Any
comments would be greatly appreciated, and can be sent to
Again thankyou
