Empty or full? Glass or plastic? Thick or thin glass?

If you can find the proper cocoons, thick-glass acid carboys are made
for shipping, with appropriate packaging. The thinner ones found only in
homebrew shops, not so much, I think.

If you cannot find the right cocoons (formed styrofoam packing) your
best bet would be to find boxes about 3 inches larger all around and
some spray foam insulation (polyurethane) - squirt foam in box, lay on a
plastic sheet, set carboy in place, add plastic sheet to top, spray more
foam, close box. Same way heavy electronics are often packed.

If the carboys are full now, you should get bottling.

Heh, or drinking. :-)

All are glass, some thin some thick. All empty.

Thanks!

I'd just wrap them in blankets and try not to drop
the grand piano on them.

One of the things I'll miss about Milwaukee is having Northern Brewer
not too far away. I called them and told them of my dilema and they
provided me with 16 unused carboy boxes free of charge.

I've got 100 threads I'd like to start, but I always get sidetracked.

First one: I'm trying to adapt a 1-gallon pump-up type garden sprayer
for use in beer tending. Rather than waste CO2 pumping solution and
water
through keggerator and jockey box lines, I though I could just put a
keg connector (gas side) on this sprayer and then pump air into any
keg, which would then be connected to whatever line I wanted to wash
or rinse. And for that matter, I could push liquids out of a keg (and
through the dip tupe.)

Anyone done this who can share their wisdom? I'm not quite sure
what pieces to put where (but if no one answers, I'll puzzle it out.)

Using CO2 as pressure to move cleaner through your system is not new.
Most people I know just connect a keg with cleaner and draw cleaner out
the faucet.
Then a couple of rinses.
So instead of connecting CO2 to the keg you could adapt for air.
If you don't have a compressor all you need from the sprayer is the pump
to pressurize the tank and the fitting to get it to the system.
Maybe I just stated what you already knew. :-(

Right. But I want to switch to air which, so far, is free and untaxed.

My plan is to put a ball-lock connector on the end of the sprayer hose.
Then I can put anything I want in a keg, attache my sprayer, and start
pumping. Whatever is in the keg will come out the beer side. So I can
wash or rinse a keg, or a keggerator line below the keg, or I can just
hose off the neighbor kids and their pesky dog.

My question is: Has anyone else done this before? Exactly what
fittings
might one want, and what can go wrong?

I haven't done it but it sounds like you have a handle on it.
Instead of fittings maybe you can splice your hose with inline hose
fittings and worm clamps and just rearrange when you want to clean.

Yes, I bought a 10 gallon keg that was used for car wash spraying..
I have a spray wand that came with a ball-lock disconnect on it.
