Hey guys,

I am about to bottle a batch and want to put some of it in a jug I
have and it has a screw top. I was wondering if there is anything
special that needs to be done in order to keep it air-tight, such as a
special solution to soak it in, etc.

Thanks,

Jack

Probably not. I've run out of bottles (in the distant past) and
just grabbed, say, an Ocean Spray bottle with a 3 in plastic lid
out of the trash, rinsed it in hot water, and filled it. It
looks stupid, but it comes out fine.

I've heard that less priming is needed for larger vessels, but
I noticed no difference.

As long as it has a healthy layer of that thin rubber under the cap.
I've used a 64oz growler a bunch of times without problems, even
though it has a really short screw top. You've got to be careful
though (with growlers at least), as squeezing the cap just a little
bit too much can deform it enough to release some of the pressure.
