I'm trying to do a major cleaning of my kegerator, and
I can't get the collar off one of the faucets. If I
used a long enough cheater bar, I'll probably bend the
entire tower in half, or rip it off the top of the unit.

Any tips on this? I assume that, as I face the faucet,
the collar should be rotated clockwise. (Although I do
have a number of left-hand thread things in my universe.)

I've thought about holding my bic lighter under the collar
for a bit to warm it up and perhaps that would break it
loose. I got nothin' else.

It's a Perlick, if that matters.

OK, I got it. Went to Home Depot and bought a pair of two-man
channel pliers, put a cresent wrench on the spout and herniated
myself. Even after the first quarter turn, it took quite a bit
of torque to continue. I sincerely believe there was some sort
of pipe dope in the threads. It's a Summit kegerator, but I
bought it used. I could be the previous owner thought he
was a plumber and put some Tighty-Tite on those threads.
I scrubbed them out as well as I could, so next time shouldn't
be so traumatic.

The chrome is slightly buggered up, (Used a hand towel as
a buffer) but I can live. I have 40 gallons in carboys to
get me through the Summer.... An ESB, an Oktoberfest, an
IPA and my version of Rocky Racoon (for the little woman.)
Beer lines are free of stone, faucets are free of crud,
kegs are clean and sanitized...life is good...ish.
